Join the Newly Formed SCDTP Decolonial Reading Group!

We are thrilled to announce the formation of the SCDTP Decolonial Reading Group, a new initiative open to students, supervisors, and staff from all our institutions.

This group is student-led and facilitated, with Patricia, Sixtus, and Patience stepping up as the initial facilitators. However, leadership and participation will be shared equally among all members.

Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where we can delve into and discuss various articles and book chapters. These readings will help us examine how decolonial theories influence our research and broader perspectives on decoloniality and the world.

Meeting Details:

  • Frequency: Every 4 weeks on Thursdays
  • Platform: Teams Link
  • First Meeting: Thursday, 21st November 2024, 1pm - 2pm.

Proposed First Reading: Ndlovu-Gatsheni, S. J. (2019). Provisional notes on decolonizing research methodology and undoing its dirty history. Journal of Developing Societies, 35(4), 481-492.

Future readings will be decided collectively, so please come with your suggestions.

We look forward to some challenging and engaging discussions!
