SCDTP Residential 2027
At a glance
When: Monday 12 – Tuesday 13 April 2027
Where: Windsor – venue to be confirmed
Who it is for: SCDTP students across all four partner institutions.
Two days away from the desk
The annual residential is the biggest cohort event in the SCDTP calendar: two days away from your usual desk, with students from Brighton, Chichester, Portsmouth and Southampton, working on the parts of doctoral life that are hard to make time for in an ordinary week.
Past residentials have covered researcher wellbeing, making impact and getting the most from your network, and they are consistently the event students tell us they valued most. Sessions are interactive and often student-led, and a good deal of the value comes from the conversations in between.
What to expect
- A themed programme of workshops and discussion sessions, confirmed closer to the date.
- Accommodation and meals provided for SCDTP students.
- Plenty of unstructured time – this is where the networking actually happens.
- The opportunity to lead or co-lead a session if you would like to.
How to join
Places are limited and allocated through an application form circulated in the new year. Put the dates in your diary now, and email scdtp@soton.ac.uk if you have questions.
