The Southampton Statistics Summer School will return this summer with a free, online programme taking place from 28 to 30 July 2026.

Organised by James Hall and Christian Bokhove, the Southampton Statistics Summer School is aimed at professionals, academics, postgraduate researchers and early career researchers who work with numeric data, particularly those in the social sciences.

The summer school offers a flexible programme of standalone morning and afternoon sessions, allowing participants to attend the sessions most relevant to their interests, training needs and availability. Across the three days, attendees will have the opportunity to explore a range of quantitative methods through a combination of lectures and hands-on workshops.

The online format makes the event accessible to participants across institutions, and the drop-in structure is designed to support those who may wish to attend selected sessions alongside other commitments.

SCDTP students who work with quantitative data, or who would like to strengthen their confidence in statistical methods, are encouraged to consider attending.

Further details, including the full programme and registration information, will be shared when available.
