How long does the internship need to be?
South Coast DTP Student have been give scope to do an internship for up to 3 months (or part time equivalent). Students can divide that time between hosts if the opportunities are suitable. Typically, most hosts prefer to use the 3 months to complete the internship project.
Does The South Coast DTP pay the student for doing the internship?
The South Coast DTP has create scope for a 3 month (or part time equivalent) internship during the student candidature. During this time, the South Coast DTP student will receive their stipend which covers subsistence for the duration of the internship.
South DTP Students cannot receive a salary whilst on their internship because they are receiving a stipend, however they will need a contribution towards any travel, accommodation & business expenses. Depending on the location of internship they may also require additional contribution to subsistence.

Does the internship need to meet specific deadlines?
The deadline of your organisations internship for a SCDTP student depends on whether the internship project needs to be completed by a certain timeline. If there is flexibility on the timeline then this can be negotiated between you and the internship student. Should your organisations internship require a specific completion date, The SCDTP Team can make sure internship applicants are aware of those deadlines.
Does my organisation need to pay for a SCDTP student to go on our internship?
South DTP Students cannot receive a salary whilst on their internship because they are receiving a stipend from The South Coast DTP, however they will need a contribution towards any travel, accommodation & business expenses. Depending on the location of internship they may also require additional contribution to subsistence.
Any contribution towards the expenses described can be negotiated and agreed before a SCDTP Student starts on their internship with your organisation.
