The SCDTP will occasionally make awards of +4.5 studentships (4.5 years PhD funding including a Research-in-Practice placement) for students undertaking research of a particularly interdisciplinary nature.
In recognition of the additional training requirements of the research, 4.5 years funding will be provided whilst undertaking an accredited PhD programme at one of the partner institutions.
Students will be required to complete a tailored programme of 60 ECTS points, identified by the Development Needs Analysis which will be completed throughout their programme.
+4.5 training will focus on interdisciplinary research. Students will not be formally registered on a Masters programme, but will take 60 ECTS of methods and subject modules from a Masters programme, identified by their Development Needs Analysis, over a two-year period (pro-rata for PT).
