Celebrating Success: Kate Tomkins Wins Doctoral College Poster Competition

Congratulations to SCDTP student Kate Tomkins who has recently won the University of Southampton Doctoral College poster competition in the category for Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Kate’s poster “Accelerating the Apocalypse: Mapping Accelerationism in Prepper Content on TikTok” powerfully communicates the essence of her research.

Kate appreciates this win is an honour in the context of a great number of amazing posters. There was lots of encouraging feedback too. Taking part in the competition she says, “I am honoured to have taken part and win ‘Best Poster’ for AHSS in the PGR Poster Showcase. It gave me such a fantastic opportunity to share my work with individuals across so many different disciplines and see the amazing research happening across the University”.
