If you are an international student, please be informed that depending on the country specific policy for your country from the UK Visas and Immigration, you may be required to return to your home country to submit a new visa application for your PhD, after completing your Masters degree. At the time of the visa application, in addition to the cost of the visa, you will also be required to pay up front costs for a health surcharge to cover the duration of the visa. Please ensure that you are aware of what you are required to do in advance and plan for the visa application process and any financial costs that will be incurred. You should start thinking about the requirements for the visa application process in March/April of the year you are finishing your Masters degree, and speak to the visa team of your research organisation if you have queries regarding the specifics of your own situation.
Each studentship covers tuition fees, a minimum tax-free stipend of £19,237, and funding for a Research-in-Practice placement. Additional funding opportunities are also available to enhance your research experience.
